A.D.E. was established in 1983 as a general engineering company manufacturing general-purpose machines for a variety of
applications including slitting and rewinding machines.
The company was sold in 1986 to an American company called Standex International as part of its precision engineering group.
The company then focused totally in the converting machinery markets for slitting and rewinding, these machines were marketed
under a Birds Of Prey Banner, Eagle, Harrier & Hawk models, for papers, films, foils & nonwoven conversions.
A.D.E also became one of the largest suppliers of slitting and rewinding machinery for the hot stamping foil industry,
supplying such machines as the Mini-Slitter & Super-Mini slitter, The Kite slitter, and the Foilmaster slitters.
The company was then sold again before becoming part of the Double R Consol portfolio.
